Ubuntu 24.04 Boosts Performance, Outperforming Windows 11 On The AMD Ryzen Framework 16 Laptop
As we've shown on many systems over the years, the Blender CPU rendering performance tends to dominate on Linux compared to Windows with very significant speed-ups.
Blender 4.1 also introduced some Linux memory allocation optimizations for even better Linux performance over Windows.
For other CPU-based rendering as well, Linux tends to yield much faster render times than Windows 11. This isn't unique at all to the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS or Framework 16 but happens almost always across various desktop/server tests too.
The near-final Ubuntu 24.04 was performing very well for the Framework 16 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS.
