WAYLAND
For those interested in the state of various open-source desktop programs on Wayland, there is a nice read about the compatibility with these modern Linux programs.

Two weeks back was the article about 2016 Wayland Experiences: GNOME: Perfect, KDE: Bad, Enlightenment: Good following Pavlo Rudyi's blog post about the desktop environments on Wayland. Pavlo Rudyi has now written a new blog post concerning Linux programs on Wayland.

Covered in his latest blog post is the state of Wayland/XWayland with various multimedia programs, different open-source games, GNOME and LibreOffice programs, Chromium and Firefox, multiple programming IDEs / editors, and more.

He concluded the part two blog post with, "I can’t test all Linux applications, but the most of them works good in this review. Several applications have issues with scrolling and freezes. The unstable applications probably can be changed to alternative and probably most of them would be enough for everyday work of typical users."
