Already tried to get help with this on the Ubuntu forums, no luck yet..

I followed the guide here (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=843&num=1) to install the radeonhd drivers.

I have an x1950Pro.

Now all the video, running applications, opening menus and pretty much everything lags horribly. If anyone can help out, I just really want to remove this driver (or replace it) and go back to the original driver to stop all this lag.

Running Ubuntu/Kubuntu, both x86-64. Amd 3000+, 2GB ram.. not sure if that's needed to know or not.

I'm a complete Linux newbie, just started about 3-4 days ago.

Thanks in advance.

If you want acceleration, you should either install radeon or grab the radeonhd branch where I've ported over the radeon accel code:
