The entire fglrx thing is driving me nuts :( Sorry for that.
Now, I've given on on my crappy asus 690g mobo and purchased a gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h. this would transfer video & sound under winxp flawlessly.
now, what I get under hardy with fglrx from restricted repo is that tv gets a fullhd signal yet displays it with huge black margins on all of the sides. the tv is in 'just scan' mode which resulted in a perfect pixel-to-pixel image under winxp. the xorg.conf is a default one generated by aticonfig --initial.
any ideas on how to get rid of the margins would be highly appreciated. TIA.
