Radeon Hd3870+Wine, Is it possible?

I recently posted an enormous thread concerning checkerboard corruption,
I finally got that fixed

Currently I am running catalyst 8.5 on My HD 3870

My question is simple, is it actually possible to run any games on wine with this video card. It seems that everything crashes right before it loads up the game.

I only ask this to find out whether I should spend more days trying to figure this out, or if i should just give up right now.

I've tried all the workarounds I've seen, none have worked for me on a HD4850 and any of the Catalyst drivers that support it (8.5+) :(
