Do we need nopat in 8.9?

my system is working fine with nopat in my grub kernel line, but is this necessary yet?.

I don't use the frglx, but why don't you just take it out and test?
No doubt it would take less than 5 min.

I don't seem to need that option, running linux-next x86_64 2008-09-19 with PAT enabled & catalyst 8.9
