After the success of the Wenger Coral notebook bag (http://www.phoronix.net/forums/showthread.php?t=89), I decided to pickup another Wenger product. The bag I ended up picking up was the Wenger Maxxum. This is a notebook backpack that I decided to pickup for a different laptop and travel purposes.

The backpack has shoulder straps along with all of the other goodies such as a padded notebook compartment, air-flow padding, organizer, dual handle system, music player pocket, and casebase stabilizing system. Like the Coral, it has a limited lifetime warranty.

So far I have been quite pleased by my handling with this Wenger Maxxum notebook backpack.

How is the size of the laptop compartment? Any chance it will fit a 17 inch behemoth?

It's designed for a maximum size of 15.4", so no it won't fit a 17" laptop. I know Wenger has some 17" notebook bags, but I am not sure if they have a larger backpack.
