I really wish I could take a screenshot of what happens, but for some odd reason, the screenshot I get when I hit the Print Screen key looks fine.

Okay, so first, my specs :
Intel Mobo/Core 2 Duo E4500
Radeon 4850
4GB RAM

Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1
Latest FGLRX

When I run Blender without the -w flag or wine with any flag at all, I get this odd MASSIVE screen corruption where the screen's split into tiles and they're arranged in stripes that are semi-randomly placed throughout the screen. Whatmore, even if I alt-tab out of the offending app, the corruption is still there. Nothing short of closing the program gets rid of the issue.

I can't for the life of me find this anywhere on Google or Ubuntu's forums, so I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, someone here's come across it and possibly has a solution.

Thank you for your time.

EDIT : For the sake of argument, changing screen resolution seems to have no effect on this problem, going from my default of 1280x768 to 640x480 (also tried 800x600 and 1024x768). Also, this seems to happen in Wine whether I have the "virtual desktop" option turned off or on.

EDIT 2 : SOLVED. Okay, it is NOT my fault Ati decided to release a new driver on Wednesday, a day after I installed Ubuntu >_< I installed Ubi a few weeks ago, and the problem had been bugging me the entire time. Oh well, problem solved, disregard this post.
