From what I can figure out, they make embedded gpus? I don't know why you'd want an Xorg driver for that, though.

Ahh, that certainly explains Mandriva's interest in this driver.

Looks like an interesting netbook. It has a 900MHz 64-bit MIPS Loongson CPU. :)

The older 7xx chips were used in a number of older laptops. The newer 501/502 chips are usually SoCs and are used for various embedded platforms. Only the later 7xx chips had 3D engines, the 501/502 chips are 2D only. All the chips support rotated 2D blits and basic video overlay. I wrote the initial siliconmotion dualhead support years ago on an old thinkpad with a siliconmotion chip.
