I believe after last months announcement, yes, there should be a 9.3 release.
However, if my memory is correct, that release will not have xserver 1.6 support, and there may not be that many, if any, changes from the 9.2 driver in regards to R300-R500 gpu's.

Catalyst 9.3 will be out by the end of this month for Linux.

Will it support the fedora 10 libdrm, anybody know? (It currently works by downgrading libdrm with the one of fedora 9)
That's interesting, I had similar issues here. Worked only after downgrade.

what makes me wonder is that there was decoupled release between linux an winblows.
strange really strange. but I don't really know how to interpret it.

Maybe its because you've been waiting months and months for a driver that is going to work properly, so it is annoying when it's late. And it's friday so if they release it now you can try it out over the weekend.
The day radeonhd gets power management for 6xx/7xx is the day I'm switching to the other driver, and hopefully I'll never care about updates ever again.

From Twitter:
Linux release will be one week later this time round. We had some cool stuff we wanted to get in before posting it.

Well... according to the opengl.org website:
Member Quotes
“AMD will support OpenGL 3.1 in the upcoming driver release for the Radeon and FirePro products, and is fully supportive of the OpenGL API,” said Suki Samra, director of OpenGL at AMD.
The upcoming driver release is 9.3 for Linux :P.
And AMD is very supportive of OpenCL as well, showed some nice demo's last week.
So who knows ;).
Tbh: we will probably see these features earlier then stable drivers that make everybody happy. Personally I'm reasonably happy and I would like the new features so I can play with OpenGL 3.1 and OpenCL. Allthough if there was a choice for the upcomming release I still would choose bugfixes I guess :D.

Perhaps they release it the 2nd of April, same day as release of the new Radeon HD4890...

How do you know? I know it is very unlikely, but hey, one can still have hope! ;)

i do not NOT know it!
i also do not know that the 9-4 final release will NOT have OpenCL!
Perhaps they release it the 2nd of April, same day as release of the new Radeon HD4890...
Or in the 1st April in prima aprilis :D when they release drivers with huge channel log which would contain:
---------------------
Now we support:
XvBA
OpenGL 3.1
OpenCL
XServer 1.6
CompizFusion
Wine
We want to communicate that we stopped to support BUGs so all bugs were thrown out of code.
---------------------
Oh how sad...
If there would be even one of this feature then it would be followed by tons of new fascinating bugs.

Personally I don't care about OpenGL 3 or OpenCL. All I want is the basic stuff to work, like 3D with Composite and then tear-free videos :P 9.3 made the first step here. Now all that's missing is the tear-free thingy and I'm all set :D

Another vote for XvBA and tear-free video ;)
Since AMD won't open up the specs for UVD1, fglrx/Catalyst is the only way to have accelerated HD playback with our HD IGPs and HD2k cards.

My home page says "Catalyst 9.3 for Linux can be downloaded at AMD.com." but ATI shows there is only 9.2 available.
Where is 9.3 link?

Should be brought up soon I guess. Happened last time too. You've been waiting for so long, I few more hours won't hurt.
But I'm afraid this release will not work for me, judging from 9.2 and 9.3beta :(

They're having fun changing the link to a different format each release...

I just installed it on Gentoo and, oh wonder, it works
Of course I still need to disable compositing to watch GL-rendered videos because it's all tearing like hell, but it's a first step. I hope AMD will keep up the good work it started with this release.

amd will open up UVD but they need more time to check the spec to do not let the HDCP Copyprotektion free.
