vesa console with HD3650?

Maybe this is not the best place to ask, but here I go: I've not been able to use any vesa mode with this HD3650. I used to pass the vga=xxx argument to get a decent resolution, but since I got this laptop this does not works, as it says it does not know that video mode.

Any ideas? Thanks.
