amdcccle - Segmentation fault

Hi, I have installed ATI drivers 8.35.5 on my Slackware 11.0. When I try to run amdcccle, I got this error:

Warning: Could not find configuration file
Please copy configuration file template to /etc/X11
Segmentation fault

I installed drivers using ATI Driver Installer as usual. Where can I find the configuration file template?

My config file is xorg.conf. I have no xfree86.conf in /etc/X11 directory.

Hi All,

Configuring ATI cards is a nightmare on linux =(

Currently running FC6 with following kernel: 2.6.20-1.2944.fc6

I have a Radeon 9250 that I'd like to configure correctly. I have downloaded and made RPMs successfully with this package:

ati-driver-installer-8.36.5-x86.x86_64.run

ATI-fglrx-8.36.5-1.fc6.i386.rpm
ATI-fglrx-control-center-8.36.5-1.fc6.i386.rpm
ATI-fglrx-devel-8.36.5-1.fc6.i386.rpm
kernel-module-ATI-fglrx-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6-8.36.5-1.fc6.i386.rpm

When I ran the RPMs i had some dependency issues which I managed to resolve. However I have the same problem as identified in this post, when I run amdcccle I get a segmentation fault ><

Is there a way to know if the drivers have installed correcly because I dont see any /etc/X11/xorg.conf file so I don't know where FC6 is getting the parameters to start X. X don't even crash at start up.

The 8.36.5 drivers do NOT support the Radeon 9250. The 9250 is part of the R200 series, and support for that was removed in the fglrx 8.28.8 drivers.

How do i uninstall those packages now...

Tried to to rpm -e <package name> and get following errors:

localhost ~]$ rpm -e ATI-fglrx-control-center-8.36.5-1.fc6.i386.rpm
error: package ATI-fglrx-control-center-8.36.5-1.fc6.i386.rpm is not installed

Still working on getting a new one up. It's breaking with 2.6.20.
