Hi.
I would love a beta key.
I have been reading your articles from Linux news sites and I came across this news twice. That was too much and i couldn't resist no more.
I love the idea of gaming in Linux. I used to be a hardcore gamer before coming to Linux.
Please please give me a beta key.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks you Phronixers for helping evangelize Linux games to game developers. It is a cliche, but "If you built it, they will come"
I'd like a beta key to try the game. I'm an old school Sony MMO gamer with many years experience. Further I've many different hardware platforms to beta test against in a single room. Lastly I enjoy testing various distributions on those platforms and could add value to the testing with my hardware suite.
Games have driven the hardware envelope for many years, especially the video graphics area. Games can help drive Linux into more and more users hands if given a really "killer" game. Hook we gameers up with a well made, open, free, and immerse game and then offer paid improvements over time. It could work.
Regards,
Swabbe

Big Fan of Phoronix. Been following the site since 2005. Always follow the news on here, never posted before until now.
I Would love to beta test the new game! the second you mentioned the words Dota.. I have to see what its like.
Thank you Phoronix and S2 games!
P.S.
I'd been using ATI for a long time. Finally bought an nvidia card for gaming. Still have an ATI x1300 in the HTPC, which lags a little on the 720p stuff but I think the open source drivers are starting to shape up! :)

I would love to beta test this game if possible.
My Qualifications:
- I'm a self-employed web developer, so I will allow myself to play at work.
- I have an ATI 4870 that's being under utilised.
- I post plenty of Phoronix articles on Reddit.
- I play DOTA, as do many of my friends.

Hello, could I please obtain a key to play this game too? I use GNU/Linux and play other games on it using WINE but a native game would be awesome. I am not sure what DoTA is but the videos I have seen on Facebook make me drool.

Can I please get a beta key?
From the few screen shots I have been able to find it looks mouth watering.
This could be an excellent game to point at and say "See! Linux has real games!"
Maybe S2 can get the ball rolling for Games in Linux. (their other games are pretty good - but this one might actually build a big community).

I would like a beta key to if possible, would mean we could support this for upcoming 5.0 release! Will create a gentoo ebuild and hopefully solve: http://forum.sabayonlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=17669 too. (and maybe I want to play it too... heheh :D)
Our last disks included the native linux world of goo demo, maybe the next one will have. :p
As a post note, how do we get custom stautuses? such as the "Debian Develper" one I saw a second ago

thank you.
A game on Linux ? that is looking great and that show you don't need direct X to make a game ... Count me in ;)
Of course I would like to request a beta key ! And I will play it a lot cause it's the only game I'll have on my Linux platform ;)
Let's make the industry understand that there are gamers outside of the Ms platform - the more we are the more games we'll get ;) !

Hi,
I'd like to request a beta key to test this game on Linux. We need to see more native linux clients for games and just from the limit information I can get about Heroes of Newerth it seems like it will go a long way to convincing other developers of the merits of developing for the Linux gamer market
thanks,

A beta key for the new Linux S2 Game would be really appreciated. I love Linux but still have to maintain an obsolete system on which to play games.
Paying for games on Linux will be a pleasure because we will know we're only paying for the game and the work that went into it; rather than being held to ransom by some greedy multinational racketeers!
Thank you Phoronix, for helping us !!!

I've always been interested in S2 games ever since the first Savage was released and am consistently impressed with the fact that they have released all their great games natively for Linux. I would love to give the latest installement from the Newerth world a try. I wonder how gracefully it will run on open source drivers :-p.
In case it matters, I am running a 64 bit system, so I'll be needing that binary.

I'm slowly converting my friends and coworkers to the linux revolution - gaming is definitely an area where I am lacking ammunition. While wine has been a great tool, it often times can be a frustrating experience and for the masses, its sometimes a bit too much to ask.
I've only been using linux as my main since ubuntu 8.04, but i've managed to get a bunch of friends to buy E2QW a couple a months ago and have had a blast with LAN play. Also, I payed for Savage 2 (played on windows) and thought it was a great game - they changed the fighting mechanics somewhere along the way and it seemed a whole lot less interesting, but then released it for free. S2 seem like a pretty cool company and one of the only ones (maybe Stardock) that seems to be trying new things...reasonable prices, linux support, drm-free games. Regardless, I definitely want to support this company and their endeavor on linux. So please send me a key.

Not sure if it's too late. So many replies! I would love to participate, though. I just downloaded a fresh Kubuntu CD for this purpose (and also to see if I can make the leap to KDE. My desktop died recently, and my lappy's on Windows mostly for gaming and uni work).
Anyway, I've never been a big gamer, but I will play the games I love to death, and RTS is my genre. I'd love to help make this a success ^_^

Phoronix: Come Play This New Linux-Native Game With Us!
S2 Games may not be as well known as id Software or Epic Games, but what distinguishes them from most of the other game companies is that they actually support Linux. With S2 Games' Savage 2, for example they provide a Linux-native game client...

Woot! More Linux games means less Wine, less VMs, and less rebooting ;)
I do wish the title was open-source, but you can't have your cake and eat it too I guess.
I wonder if more MMORPGs offering native Linux support could prompt Blizzard to port some of its own games... ;)
I would also like a key, please, if there are still ones available :) 64-bit Arch Linux user. Thanks!

I'd also like to request a key if any are still available.
As well as having a number of different Linux-running machines to test upon, from netbooks with GMA950 graphics to quad-core desktops with 1/2GB graphics cards, I can also count myself amongst what must be a very select group: I've actually bought a commercial Linux game! Back in the day I purchased Civilization: Call To Power. Unfortunately, on my machine of the time (which may have been an AMD K6-3 with a Matrox G400 graphics card) is was too slow to be playable, and scrolling around the map was an exercise in frustration. I should dig that game out again and give it a try on modern hardware...
