SilverStone Sugo SG02 / SilverStone SG03

Phoronix had first disclosed word of the Sugo SG02 SFF chassis earlier this year. With time, we have delivered bits of information here and there. However, now that the SG02 should finally ship this month, here is a bit more information and some reiterated from previous Phoronix articles.

~ The next Sugo chassis will be called the SG02
~ This is not a complete re-design but rather boasts some moderate improvements.
~ The front of the chassis has been re-designed.
~ The case is expected to be much more economical than the SG01 or SG01 Evolution
~ The SilverStone Sugo SG02 should ship this month (September 2006)

The delays with the SG02 are in fact because SilverStone is working on reducing the manufacturing cost while not decreasing the quality of the chassis. For those unfamiliar with this chassis, it has been widely popular as it is SFF and "Shuttle-like" but does not require any proprietary hardware -- it uses a microATX motherboard and a standard power supply.

More information to come soon :D Also start dreaming about is the SilverStone Tundra TD01 external water cooler.

I have just heard back from SilverStone that the Sugo SG02 has been delayed. The reason for this delay is SilverStone manufacturing facilities now finishing the production of some other products. No revised tentative ship date for the SG02, but hopefully it will be by late October.

For those that haven't seen the case yet, below is a diagram provided by SilverStone for the Sugo SG02.

I am sad to report that the SG02 has now been delayed indefinitely.

Though this will hopefully mean the introduction of the SG03 will be sooner.

No im afraid not, i have been looking myself, bu only found this picture on a German forum, no info at all.

I hate this Sugo situation, dont know if i shall by a SG01 Evo, or wait for the SG02, becourse their is no realest date it can take months.

As I reported earlier, SilverStone has told me that it's delayed indefinitely... That picture does look fairly old since it was from that above link which was 2006, so it doesn't look like things have changed.

The SG01W, is also nice, but allmost impossible to get in EU. SG01B it is.

But SG02 looks nice though :)

Very interesting... I'll try to corroborate this information with some higher-ups at SilverStone or to find out why they would do such a move.

I just received word from SilverStone that the Sugo SG03 will be available after CeBIT this March! Hooah!

March 17, 2007 -- The SilverStone Sugo SG03, the successor to the Sugo SG01, is now officially launched! The SG03 Evolution product page is available showing off several product photographs, reversible PSU support, light and compact design, dual GPU support, and greater expansion possibilities. The design of the SG03 is completely radical compared to the original Sugo. As mentioned in our recent review of the SG01B-W Evolution, the SilverStone SG03 will likely ship in April (but could be delayed to May). The SG03 is also being shown off by SilverStone at CeBit.

The SilverStone Sugo SG03 is a SG01 on steroids and it's a sexy yet functional micro ATX chassis. You could also say the SilverStone Sugo SG03 is the Temjin TJ09 of micro ATX cases. There are a few minor details with the case that are obviously inherited from the original Sugo and the Sugo Evolution, but as a whole this is an all-new and very exciting case.
