This is an entry for Phoronix LCH (http://www.phoronix.net/forums/showthread.php?p=6635#post6635). Feel free to comment on the Linux compatibility for the Intel 82540EP Gigabit Ethernet Controller in this thread.
Intel 82540EP Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Description: Gigabit ethernet card
Hardware Notes: Works with the e1000 driver. Sometimes (on some networks) failed to detect gigabit network presence and autonegotiated 100Mbit. I don't know if it was the card's fault or the network's. Can be forced to use a gigabit network with module parameters.
