NVIDIA 100.14.11 Display Driver

June 21, 2007 -- It was just two weeks ago that NVIDIA had introduced the 100.14.09 display driver, but today we have another new Linux, Solaris, and FreeBSD driver out from the green binary camp. The NVIDIA 100.14.11 display driver adds support for their new GeForce 7 integrated graphics, fixes console restoration problems, and improves some other areas of their Linux (as well as FreeBSD and Solaris) driver.

Usually

nvidia-installer --uninstall

works quite well, but of course you can wait...

The problem is the nVidia installer for the longest time overwrites some libs (libdri and libglx) that break X if I wanted to use another card along with the nVidia one (for instance the onboard UniChrome on a three monitor setup).

That's correct, but it makes backups, and those are restored with --uninstall. Also even when you get distro specific packages i highly doubt that you could use DRI on another card. The install method does not matter.

No (or rather, I haven't tried), but at least it doesn't break any packages ;)

The restoration part of the installer with the --uninstall argument has never worked out alright for me (I know it does it, just doesn't quite work as trying to use regular DRI drivers result in no DRI and some times corrupted OpenGL rendering)
