Some of the ads on this site/forum are misplaced. The most obvious example is the "missing drivers?" ad at the top of any forum page. I doubt that any phoronixer benefits from a windows-only site (or you for that matter).

personally i'm not going to criticize how phoronix people try to make money.

The adds are a bit omnipresent, and appear to be hinged on "page views" rather than unique visitors, but whatever makes them the most money.

Just ignore it. If Phoronix was asking for money from you or asking for donations, then the ad's can get annoying to some extent but these ad's are simply here to help keep Phoronix alive and if they do not interest you, just keep in mind, they are what is keeping this site around.
