Basically the only major third party NVIDIA Linux utility for overclocking, fan speed, etc... is NVClock. Roderick has done a nice job with NVClock, though as the v0.8 Beta is old, if you give it a shot, be sure to check out the CVS from SourceForge. Here (http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=21335) is the SourceForge CVS page.

I use coolbits for overclocking and it works great. What I'm looking for is some way of unlocking the extra pixel pipelines on my 6800.

I believe NVClock is capable of unlocking some pixel pipelines on older cards (not sure off hand if the 6800 can be done with NVClock). With the newer cards (GeForce 7) NVIDIA is protecting the cards against being unlocked.

NVClock cannot unlock pipelines..
You must use nvtuner for that.
1.Download nvtuner
2.Compile it
3.Change to runlevel 3 (stop gdm, xdm, X, w/e)
4.Run dmesg to try to find out the location of the memory you must edit
5.Run nvtuner <found address> to find out current state
6.Play around with different settings by 'nvtuner <setting> <address>'
7.Be careful not To f8ck your nvidia card up ;)

This thread is quite old though, but nvclock can unlock pipelines fine (nvclock -P / -V).
