Phoronix: X.Org 7.3 Gets Released

Well, the delay we told you yesterday ended up being a one-day delay. As of this morning, X.Org 7.3 and X server 1.4 have been officially released.

xorg-server needs damageproto-1.1 but it seems only 1.0.3 is provided (http://xorg.freedesktop.org/archive/X11R7.3/src/proto/).

Edit: Nevermind, I found it (http://xorg.freedesktop.org/archive/individual/proto/); posted too fast.

But does it run .... with the new ATi 8.41 drivers everybody is waiting for like mad?

i wish they waited some more time, though.

it locks up every time i start it. now i have to downgrade everything to previous release :/

That's the risk with bleeding edge software... I'll wait for the next nVidia driver release to see if they have added support for 1.3 (7.3)
