As the title suggests. Games was suppose to ship in Mid-August. Beta program began in July.
No news since then.
... Anyone heard anything?

Nope, I haven't heard anything at all about it. Which is odd, Tux Games still says estimated release date of August 1st.

Pretty depressing.
I have the SE on pre-order since June :(
On the other hand, both UT2K7/Linux and ETQW/Linux should be released next month; hopefully they'll keep me busy till the the real thing (tm) is released.

Svartalf should be able to comment on any X3 news, due to his relations with LGP.

Heh... Was busy with some other things today...
I've not recently heard about X3- I'll check into what all's going on and I'll relate what I can about it here shortly.
It was my understanding around end of July time frame that it was supposed to be in it's final beta stages; it may have ran into a snag at the 11th hour- kind of like Ballistics ended up with.
(Edit: corrected the timeframe based off of what info I had in hand...)

I'm very interested in this game as well. The previous game looked great, and this one looks even better from the looks of it. I hope it gets released very soon.

Well, what I can disclose for everyone at this time is that there was a few issues, but they're being worked out right now. When, I can't say yet (No info as to when- not on that team right at the moment. Right now I've been set to sorting out a show-stopper on Bandits:Phoenix Rising that's the holdup there.) but it should be forthcoming in a bit from the sounds of things I got tonight.

Cool i'm also interested in this. I own the windows version but it'd be cool if could get it running natively on linux

I know I want to be playing it as a Native Binary title. I largely don't buy Windows titles except when I can't get a demo to evaluate the title with.

I have the windows version but I only played it a few times. I used to get on closed Alpha, Beta tests all the time for windows games but so far I've had no luck with LGP. Do they have a very small pool of testers? Oh well, I cannot wait to get this once it is released.

FYI, I just got invited to join the X3 Beta.
No binaries yet, though.

Doesn't the X3 Windows version have nice built-in benchmarking support? I can't wait! :)

X3 you had to download the benchmarking separately but I would think the Linux version would come with it similar to how it did with X2. Oh and LGP denied me yet again for a beta. Guess I'll have to go back to Windows beta testing at this rate.

Have you pre-ordered to the LGP-X3 SE version?

No, I am not buying X3 again unless I know it will be a better port than X2 was. Do you have any initial performance impressions you could give?

<OT>
X2 worked fine on my machine. (Joystick support was problematic; but the port itself was stable and had decent performance)

As for your question, the Beta isn't out yet.
... And LGP requested that people, at least in the beginning, will refrain from posting performance numbers. (I assume that the initial builds will be riddled with debug print-outs and will not be optimized)

You'd be very correct in that guess. :D
