Hello,

Got one stupid question : why this site is called "phoronix" ???

Phoronix seems rather to mean nothing. "Hardware4linux", for example, could have been a more suggestive name, but, instead, it's called "phoronix".

Please, take no offense at all about this thread, as I really like this name of phoronix, but just want to know it's origin if there is something to say about that !
:D

Phoronix rules.

From http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=contact :

The name Phoronix consists of the prefix "phoro" and the root "NIX", whose combined meaning may be translated as "Linux movement".

Sorry for that, I didn't even thought that you would have already explained it in your "contact" part of your site ! :o

Thanks anyway for your answer.

:D

(And, once again, PHORONIX RULES !)

Phoronix is especially well regarded for its Linux graphics articles and with time has become the leader in providing original GNU/Linux hardware content.
