Hi,

I've got a x2600xt on a msi 790x mobo and i'm running 7.10. When i try to install 8.443.1 i get the above mentioned error message and i can't google a solution.

Please help!

weird, no error should of happened... I have installed fglrx dozens of times using the guide provided on the unofficial wikipedia site that includes instructions on installing fglrx with Ubuntu 7.10 (http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Gutsy_Installation_Guide) ( use method 2, which involves the terminal/command prompt. )

I take it that you got it installed, right? well if that's the case linux has it's own control center, in the terminal type the following command to run it...

amdcccle

I don't think the Windows CCC would work with the Linux driver.

Yeah, Windows Catalyst Control Center will not work with Linux...

I did find a few references to VCDK (mostly in languages I couldn't read ;)) but most of them seemed to end when the OP used the instructions in the wiki guide that Dandel linked.

I wouldn't bother trying to run CCC until the driver is installed.
