Solution to Video flickering in 8.01?

I just installed Catalyst drivers straight from ati's site and it went very smoothly, the only issue i'm having which i noticed has been going on for a few releases is video flickering while compiz is active. I know there wasn't a solution in 7.12, but has anyone been able to solve this now?

No not yet, I just use smplayer with x11 instead of xv
