OK, So I just bought new widescreen LCD, and I was having problems with the native resolution being too high, and I wanted to lower it to something easier on mu eyes. I've since figured that problem out. By simply using a better DVI cable all my resolution problems seem to have been solved. Now I can run it at just about any 16x10 resolution, and as long as the refresh rate and the pixel clock is within range it works beautifully. So I got that fixed acceptably.
Now if it aint one thing its another. I've run into a new stumper, and I dont know enough about xorg to figure it out. The problem is difficult to describe, and only occurs in the particular situation that I am trying to make work. Anyhow I'll do my best to describe it.
If I have a non-native 16x10 resolution (anything less then 1680x1050) on the desktop, and I have a game configured for any 16x10 resolution (including 1680x1050) It craps out with an error very similar to these

All of them give similar errors, but again it's only if the desktop resolution is a non-native widescreen mode, and if the in game resolution is also widescreen.
Anybody have any guesses?
