Radeon HD 3870 x2 Linux

Hello everybody,
please, can anyone help me with my radeon hd 3870 x2 card on linux. Which driver should I download and how to set it up? Is it possible to get 3D acceleration?I heard that I can`t use both GPUs, I need just one. Please help, thanks

You should be able to use fglrx (Catalyst 8.03), which is the only driver right now for the R500/600 with 3D. You can use RadeonHD, but won't have any 2D or 3D acceleration right now.

What distribution are you using? Catalyst installation is different depending upon the distro.

I am using now Mandriva 2008 but I can install openSuse 10.3 and Slackware 12. Which one is the best for catalyst.
