      Anyone got an idea what makes Dolphin sometimes start extremely slow?
      Trying out if new framework makes a difference...

          I wonder if there are network shares or something like that slowing it down, maybe start it in a terminal and see if anything is outputed?

            I could not tell, for me seems to be near instant. And I don't remember remember seeing it to start too slow or extremely slow
            Kubuntu 18.10 fully updated to latest Plasma version on a laptop with SSD+HDD
            Maybe if you tell us more of your configuration, maybe we can see something different compared to our configurations.

                probably an issue on your side. Here it starts normally. I second the suggestion about network folders

                  Here it usually starts instantly too, but sometimes it doesn't. Got nothing remote mounted and Thunar always starts instantly.
