The multicolor class groups monochrome LEDs and allows controlling two aspects of the final combined color: hue and lightness. The former is controlled via the intensity file and the latter is controlled via brightness file.

Nice. A framework to use system lights as a utility instead of just bling will make me more interested in system lights.

No.
RGB leds will take use of it.
Like Notification LEDs on phones.
