    Collecting bets on this being rejected in the last moment, so it misses the version window and has to be delayed until the next version.

      I hope AMD will improve upon their time table for upstreaming such components to their software stack, missing the important 5.10 LTS kernel window is bad enough (not so much if these two drivers will be backported). Michael also points it out ever so often with other components, it is just the same with compiler support where their competition is usually way ahead. And in the past they had a dedicated open source development center in Dresden which was closed during their darkest times.
