    Why not put this stuff inside the kernel and expose it in /sys/class/powercap and hwmon, as appropriate? Having vendor specific control panels seems like an ugly Windows-ism.

    I am also skeptical that this is really specific to Epyc. The thing this is meant to talk to sounds suspiciously similar to the thing ryzen_smu interacts with. It would be odd for AMD not to reuse code where they could... So are they trying to hold out on desktop users?
