Thumbs up for Debian. Reliable, rock solid, works and that is not a small feat for something that is completely free! Thanks to all working on Debian!

Nice to see at least some people appreciate stability in an age of rolling release hype and the desire to be on "everything latest and greatest".

Sid (Debian "Unstable") is a rolling release, but if you know how to handle it (mainly via multiple-boots, rsync and judicious updates), it is as solid as a rock can be.

On the other hand, stability is a relative term; it also depends largely on the stability of certain individual packages--especially those that need to be used on an everyday basis. For Chinese-language users, Debian "unstable" is actually more stable than Debian stable (Debian 11, or Bullseye") because the "stable" version still uses ibus-libpinyin 1.12, which has stability problems. I have not encountered any Chinese input problem after I upgraded to Bookworm, which uses ibus-libpinyin 1.12.1. Character input is a critical part of everyday desktop operations.
