This is open source, everyone is well welcome to contribute or fork. Your post smells of desperate illogical ugly hatred based on the fact that none other than Microsoft has contributed to the project. But the project is not governed or controlled by them, which means its original maintainers have endorsed the changes.

That is not the case. Or you have any proof of the behavior you describe? Or you are only speculating based Microsoft behavior from 20 years ago; now it is a very different company.
Microsoft is helping fixing real bugs, some of which have already been fixed in other compositors. Typical multiplication of work caused by Wayland, as every improvement has to be implemented many times.

launcher-logind: Remove systemd-logind support

Many years ago (2014) systemd-logind was brought into libsystemd. We've supported old versions of systemd-logind ever since. Let's remove support for old versions of systemd-logind before the merge for a tiny code simplification.

It's not so much as they removed support for systemd-logind as they switched to just checking for libsystemd since nowadays having libsystemd version 209 or higher also implies having logind available.

launchers: remove launchers

Moving forward we're going to be supporting libseat and logind as our only launchers. We're doing this to reduce our maintenance burden, and security impact. Libseat supports all our existing use cases, and seatd can replace weston-launch so we no longer have to carry a setuid-root program. This patch removes weston-launch, and launcher-direct, leaving only libseat and logind.

That's simply wrong. Weston is great in the embedded space where maximal use of the display hardware (i.e. overlay planes etc.) is mandatory as GPUs are too weak. And Microsoft is by far not the biggest contributor - AFAIK Collabora is.

It's great to see MS continue to devote resources to WSLg. We'll just have multiple Wayland compositors out there. Now if only apps would hurry up and move away from reliance on xwayland.
