Phoronix: Few Lines Of Code Increases Intel's Vulkan Driver Draw Throughput By 60%+

You may recall a few days ago how Valve contractor Mike Blumenkrantz boosted the Radeon Vulkan "RADV" driver draw throughput by +55%. Well, he now had a go at optimizing the Intel open-source "ANV" Vulkan driver and has squeezed out a 60% improvement to the draw throughput. Even more interesting is that it was just a few lines of code...

        The obvious trololo post (tm):

After gifting optimizations to AMD, after gifting optimizations to Intel, now he's going to be gifting optimizations to N.... oh...

        Seriously, thanks, Mike.

NVIDIA has open sourced their driver.

2 questions, does this optimization only works for gen 11? if not will it make its way to the new vulkan driver for older intel igpus? and before someone says "haswell its not compatible with vulkan bla bla bla" my intel hd 400 is fully vulkan 1.3 compatible and is on the list of deprecated igpus.

thats not true they do not have an opensource user-space ... have fun with a out of tree kernel driver without an opensource user-space part

There's no nouveau vulkan driver yet unfortunately.

Fork of Upstream Mesa for random Nouveau development. Please use mesa/mesa instead if you want to submit MRs.

Still early stages but already at 90%+ Vulkan 1.0 conformance test suite passing

                  The future is exciting
