Might be fun in the near future (once supported) to have PearOS on one of these M1/M2 Macs and see how many people really can't tell the difference.

Those are still in the 5nm node right? It will be interesting to see a comparison against the future AMD mobile APUs in the same node later this year. Last year 6nm closed the gap a lot in the power/performance category. Now we will have a much better AMD64/ARM architecture comparison.

Intel should take note of this idea that strapping RAM to the chip that can be accessed at 200-400GB/sec is great. They should do the same for consumer stuff and offer a CXL-based path for additional RAM that's lower tier. I'd rather have 8-16GB of RAM for the CPU and iGPU running at 200GB/sec and 16GB more that's 40GB/sec than 32GB at 100 GB/sec.
