Does nouveau have any use beyond starting a browser to download the drivers these days? I didn't really follow the story.

Does nouveau have any use beyond starting a browser to download the drivers these days? I didn't really follow the story.

It is useful if you have an older Nvidia GPU, and you want to do some beaurotic work.
On some GPUs (those supporting re-clocking), it might even be used for lightweight games.
