One of the big milestones we are looking forward to in 2024 is the introduction of AMD Zen 5 processors. AMD Linux engineers have in recent months begun getting ready for those next-generation processors that look like will be Family 26 (1Ah) processors. We've been seeing more of the AMD "1Ah" patches and some more were posted today for some post-Christmas excitement before the new year...

zen 4 parts were introduced over 11 months. the last bit just two months ago. I suspect zen 5 will drag it the introduction out even longer.

I wasn't even thinking about the x3d, which is kinda like a refresh and minor sku (I'm not a gamer), but all the other major classes of zen4 cpus.:

August 29, 2022 - announce zen4 7000 desktop cpus
November 10, 2022 - announce zen4 epyc server cpus
January 4, 2023 - announce zen4 mobile apus
February 28, 2023 - announce zen4 x3d desktop cpus
October 19, 2023 - announced zen4 hedt workstation class chips
