    I wonder how this interacts with this VITE thing Jerome Glisse has in his personal mesa repo:


    IIRC it should also provide a better compiler infrastructure for r6xx-based GPUs.

      I didn't know VITE.
      What is its purpose exactly?

        You should ask Jerome that question. But from the first commit message (see the log):
        r600g/nv50/nvc0 common shader compiler
        So it looks like some compiler / compiler infrastructure.
