Kali Linux uses Gnome for its default desktop environment
So basically Kali linux is for noobs that just want to surf facebook. Everyone knows that it's impossible to do any real work in gnome. Even gnome devs don't use it because it's only made for touch and web-browsing. How am I supposed to believe that Kali is a penetration testing os when the desktop is just facebook noob-vill? I bet the people that made this os don't even know what linux is, because anyone that knows what linux is would have used a tiling-wm like ratpoison.

What a joke, the kali devs couldn't even build their own website with their own os because they can't get a workflow like tiling-wms have.
      quieter you become...
OMG!!! Ur only going to be quite because you don't have any features to use sound any more because gnome-devs took all the features except facebook away!

Kali Linux, the most advanced facebook surfing distribution, ever.

Most pentesting apps are command line apps anyway, so who cares which desktop you run your terminal emulators on?

Well, let us see your specialized distribution that runs ratpoison, especially one that is as successful as BackTrack was, since Kali is made by the BackTrack people.
By the way, it is based on Debian, one of the distros with the largest amount of available software, so if you like ratpoison just install it. You know, there are these things called package managers and repositories, genius.

What a joke, the kali devs couldn't even build their own website with their own os because they can't get a workflow like tiling-wms have.
They have a website, so what is your problem? Please explain that, maybe it even makes sense what you try to say.

How does it matter which features the desktop has on a distro that primarily uses command line tools?

Well, show us how you make it better.

                Don't feed the troll, people.

Back to topic, superlative claims such as "The most advanced penetration testing distribution, ever." should make anybody skeptic. I like how Pentoo ships with password crackers that use GPGPU acceleration, rtl-sdr/gnuradio to look at security of your (non-802.11) radio communications. Those are not included by default and sometimes outdated or not even installable via the Kali repository.
