As much as I dislike Mir (and Ubuntu), I would have great
respect for having the balls to present something at XDC.

The call for proposals says ?While any serious proposal will be gratefully considered, topics of interest to X.org and FreeDesktop.org developers are encouraged.?

So if someone wants to submit a Mir talk, there's nothing stopping them. Certainly topics about the common underlying infrastructure, like DRM, KMS, & Mesa are to be expected.
