      I don't have any results on it, but I definitely feel that MPV (the fork of Mplayer/Mplayer2) is faster and is better quality than gstreamer-based applications. VLC too...

      Could just be my imagination though. Definitely not the VLC part though, I've had issues with VLC video quality since forever *shrug*
