        This current implementation makes dri3+Present with XWayland/Wayland at the same level of feature/performance than Dri2 under X.

        Likely performance is not to improve soon, but tearings could be avoided when you don't sync with vsync.

        Before performance improves, there would need a new kernel feature to cancel a scheduled pageflip.
        X Dri3+Present would also need such a feature to get better performance, and to avoid tearings when you don't sync with vsync.
