Does somebody knows a repo for Debian Jessie that would provide it ? We're still stuck at E17 0.17.3-2

Debian's typical bureaucracy in action: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=729751

Though to be fair, the Enlightenment devs seem far less involved in the distribution\packaging side compared to the KDE\Gnome\Unity devs: By comparison, Fedora is literally run by Gnome (and KDE) guys, Unity is, of course, Ubuntu all the way, Mate\Cinnamon is dominantly a Mint project and KDE has had many contributions from openSUSE and Mageia over the years.

If I had to guess, I'd say most of the non-compiling Enlightenment users are using Arch. No idea on how Bodhi is doing...

pretty much - yup. by your above - fedora == gnome, ubntu == unity, opensuse == kde etc.. (yes rough), and for use... arch == e. AUR has enlightenment-git packages. we keep PKGBUILD files up to date in git itself (just git clone and makepkg from the pkgbuild dir any time). arch "core" releases are up to 0.18.3 efl and 1.8.4 for efl already.

so we're less involved in distros... other than arch or bodhi mostly. there are 1000+ distros out there and we cant be involved in all. debian has a large amount of bureaucracy to become a developer etc. - ubuntu is moving away from everyone by going to mir (no incentive to bother supporting ubuntu as we're moving to wayland so mir vs wayland means it'll always be an uphill battle to deal with ubuntu in future), fedora does get packaging, but it just takes a little longer.

so end story is - if you want an up-to-date e/efl ... try arch. arch is on the ball quick-smart.
