    Intel's version of HSA is about to come out

    From what I see in those docs, the shared virtual address space is the major feature of AMD's HSA that is supposed to make it easier to use GPU for compute tasks.

      Now if they would only ship a Broadwell processor! Usually we have to wait for software to support our new hardware, Broadwell may be the first hardware in a long time shipped with all the new features fairly well supported.
