    Not sure if HHVM is a PHP alternative looking in to PHP docs it looks like a Zend Engine replacement only.

        No, it's a PHP re-implementation. I really wish people would learn the difference.

        The Hack language that is also available via HHVM? THAT is a PHP replacement.
