Usually, when I hear someone talk about a new desktop environment, I'm thinking "wasted resources", but this project seems kind of cool. I'm not a fan of Qt, but we need something lightweight that still has some kick.

    God I miss gnome2.

      for Arch users:

no idea how it compares to LXQt - seem rather similar at first sight

I was thinking just the opposite. I am a big fan of Qt, and think the Lumina DE looks bad.
IMHO, they really need some UI professionals to do an overhaul.

Frameworks are not a desktop and they want their own desktop because they don't like the GPL and want a BSD-licensed desktop.

                  alway these license shit -.-
Qt is GPL too (I dont think they use the commercial version).

Frameworks are ment to build a desktop or an appi its what parts you take from it.

No, it is dual-licensed GPL and LGPL.
