      Cursor format?

What cursor format does it use?

Does it use some weird XPM-based (X PixMap) file format from X11?
Or does it use the .cur file format from Microsoft Windows?
Or does it use PNG? Perhaps with the MNG or APNG variants for animation?
      Or does it use SVG?

Good questions. I hope at least it's not using the shitty old xpm format, not by default.

in case of Gtk, best question is when will we see 4.0 so it will be stable.

Are the HiDPI cursors useful in a heterogeneous display environment or do they act like the rest of GTK+?
