Phoronix: Phoronix - Working Towards Faster Page Loads

As a PSA, this weekend I began playing around with a CDN and distributed DNS for speeding up the page load times on Phoronix...

Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

Most CDNs throw up user privacy. They can know which pages you visit.

Phoronix was slow for me (Germany) a few times in the last 1-2 days, but it seems fine now.

And cloudflare not just aggressively spying who does what, but also actively hacking traffic. If you'll use Tor, you'll be asked to enter recaptcha http://tau.rghost.ru/8RvcpBBBK/image.png

Нееdless to say, cloudflare are not privacy friendly at all. They're exactly opposite of that.

The pages on Phoronix often take a lot of time to load for me since yesterday (up to a minute!).
OpenBenchmarking is incredibly slow as well and gave a internal server error once.

I hope these extreme slowdowns are only temporary.

So today it's still slow for you? What country are you in?

                SSL

I'd be curious if you want to try https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl ....

                Site loads fine for me..

                  ngix, good
                  apache, not so good
software and uplink more important than hardware and distribution
