    Phoronix: Linux 2.6.25-rc7 Kernel Released

The Linux 2.6.25 kernel should be out quite soon, but this morning the Linux 2.6.25-rc7 kernel has been released. The changes in this release should close the last of the recent regressions and other trivial changes...

rc8 is out today. Any idea when the final build will be out? 2.6.24 is turning out to be a disappointment for me.

When is REISER4 going to be added to the kernel.

ONE IS TIRED OF THE IDIOTS EXCUSES FOR NOT ADDING REISER4 TO THE KERNEL.

      ALL OF THEIR EXCUSES SUCK.

      REISER4 HOWTOS.

What?!?! rc7 and rc8 out on the same day? -- NO.

Would someone supply a clear list of the "reasons" that prevent REISER4 from being added to the kernel.

rc7 came out I think last week (or the week before). rc8 was either today or yesterday (I don't check that often).

Someone (preferably some of the VFS maintainers) needs to do a full code review. IIRC this hasn't happened yet; I think this is
somewhat due to Hans' sometimes hostile attitude towards those
same people in the past, and there are fears that the R4 developers will drop support for it as soon as R5 is in development (as has happened with R3).

because it is still under heavy development and is still not feature frozen. another fact is that namesys has officially closed and now there isn't any of its fathers working directly on it, at least for what i know.
i agree in part with linus view on not including it in the kernel since it's not yet complete. anyway, andrew morton's -mm sources include reiser4 in them, for what i know and andrew is one of the people who pushes for including reiser4 support inside.
