    WebSockets is a complicated protocol and implementation.
    If you real-time updates but is okay with uni-directional flow (from server to client) and don't need bi-directional flow, then you can use Server Sent Events (SSE). It is much easier to implement. However it does not work in Internet Explorer.

      We do need bi-directional flow and this isn't even for server <-> browser but between test systems <-> PS. WebSockets are already in use for the PTS GUI.
