I hope they don't try to turn the GuixSD system into a hurd only system. Microkernels are simply not feasible with the plethora of hardware devices and device driver types, file system types of modern computing world. Its too hard to come up with a solution that works with all of them.

On the contrary that's exactly one of the reasons for going with a microkernel as it actually makes that much easier, it's just that the monolithic kernels are significantly more popular, to the point where the development disadvantage is wiped out many times over.
