    With the big Catalyst 15.7 Linux driver update released last week and the continued evolution of the open-source AMD Linux driver in the Linux kernel and Mesa Gallium3D, here are fresh benchmarks of six different AMD Radeon graphics cards when being tested on both the open and closed-source drivers to represent the AMD Linux gaming experience this summer.

        Again no comment on the csgo performance of the HD 7950 and R7 370? How is < 60 FPS and less than half of fglrx quite positive?

          Yeah, something is wrong with those GPUs. These strange results definitely warrant an investigation, Michael. Maybe power management (DPM) doesn't work correctly? We can only speculate.

            Actually the problem I see is the R9 290, the catalyst performance is pretty low. Much lower than it should be. I don't think it's too much of a problem that the OSS drivers are running slower. After all those drivers are still in heavy development. It's the catalyst results that don't look right.

              The only thing the CS:GO tests prove is that the driver overhead is so bad that it has become the dominating factor in determining performance. Not the actual capabilities of the hardware. How else can you explain a 6950 beating a 370 and 290. We almost never see things like this happening in DirectX.
